To all colleges, relevant units, and students:

The "Anhui Province Robot Contest - Microcontroller and Embedded Systems Track" is a Class B event sponsored by the Anhui Provincial Department of Education for university students in Anhui Province. Its purpose is to motivate students to actively engage in the study of microprocessor technology and embedded systems, enhance students' comprehensive ability to solve practical problems using microprocessor technology, encourage students to participate actively in extracurricular scientific and technological activities, broaden their knowledge, cultivate creativity, cooperation, and promote the reform of the university's teaching system, teaching content, and methods of microprocessors and embedded systems. To actively promote the standardized and orderly development of the "Second Classroom," the university has decided to host the 2024 Hefei University of Technology Microcontroller and Embedded Systems Competition and the 2024 "Anhui Province Robot Contest - Microcontroller and Embedded Systems Track" campus selection.

I. Competition Organization

The microcontroller and embedded systems application skills competition is unified and managed by the Undergraduate College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Office, and the Hefei University of Technology Microcontroller and Embedded Systems Application Skills Competition Organizing Committee is established to be responsible for the organization, proposition, evaluation, and publicity of the Competition.

II. Competition Time and Format

1.Registration Method: Join the QQ group for Hefei Campus: 740745934 and complete the online form. Join the QQ group for Xuancheng Campus: 544264910 and complete the online form.

2.Competition Time: Tentatively scheduled for March 31, 2024 (Sunday) from 8:00 to 12:00.

3.Undergraduate students voluntarily form teams of two people each; graduate students are not allowed to participate.

4.The participating teams' colleges generally provide the instruments, equipment, components, or other consumables required for the Competition.

III. Competition Awards

1.This competition sets up first-prize, second-prize, and third-prize awards.

2.The total number of awards and the proportion for this competition are set as follows: the total number of awards is 60% of the number of registrations, with 10% for the first prize, 20% for the second prize, and 30% for the third prize.

3.The university competition organizing committee is responsible for the award evaluation. After the university competition organizing committee completes the review, it will select representative teams with outstanding results in the university competition to participate in the 2024 Anhui Province Robot Contest - Microcontroller and Embedded Systems Track on behalf of our university, and no separate selection will be conducted.

IV. Competition Categories

The minimum system board is divided into four categories: A, B, C, and E platforms. Competition A platform uses an 8-bit microcontroller as the processor; Competition B platform uses a 32-bit microcontroller as the processor; Competition C platform: an embedded platform with an FPGA chip as the processor; Competition E platform: based on Xilinx's Artix-7 FPGA development board or Head Brother's (encoder) virtualized FPGA as the competition platform.

The functional modules consist of input and output devices, including keyboards, sensor modules (digital or analog signals), LEDs, LCDs, digital or analog input/output signal control units, motor drivers, and other application modules.

Students need to build hardware and write software code according to the tasks. Development board routines (special device drivers are provided in the competition task) are not allowed to be used to cultivate students' ability to develop independently through the competition.

Teams must bring their own A, B, C, and E platforms and complete the proposition tasks through on-site programming and circuit connection. Tasks are released on-site, completed on-site, and scored on-site. Participating students can carry paper reference materials such as books and manuals but need help carrying USB flash drives, mobile phones, smart devices, or electronic document materials.

V. Competition Process

1.Teams must sit in designated positions and operate designated computers.

2.During the competition, team members complete hardware connections and software writing debugging according to the tasks’ requirements. Team members are not allowed to talk to anyone other than the designated staff of the competition technical committee. On-site staff can only answer and handle questions related to the platform system.

3.The competition lasts 4 hours, with prompts given 15 minutes before the end. The computer is shut down when the competition ends to stop answering questions. All team members leave the competition venue and wait for evaluation in the designated area.

4.Team members can submit their work one hour after the competition starts, indicating completion time, signing, and then leaving the competition venue.

5.Team members who hinder the regular progress of the competition, such as moving equipment on the competition field without approval, modifying the competition software and hardware without authorization, or interfering with others' competition, will have their qualifications revoked.

6.It is essential to note that participating students can only carry paper reference materials such as books and manuals and cannot carry USB flash drives, software, mobile phones, smart devices, or electronic document materials. Violators will be disqualified from participating.
