Notice on Personal Growth Plans for the 2024 Winter Break in the School of Computer Science and Information (Artificial Intelligence School)

Dear Students,

To fully unleash the enthusiasm, initiative, and self-awareness of our students, and to enhance their consciousness of utilizing holiday time wisely, we aim to reinforce self-improvement while balancing relaxation during the winter break. Our goal is to ensure a safe, harmonious, healthy, and fulfilling holiday experience. After careful consideration, we have decided to launch the 2024 Winter Break Personal Growth Plan for all undergraduate students in the School of Computer Science and Information (Artificial Intelligence School). The specific arrangements are as follows:

I. Activity Period:

January 29th, 2024, to February 25th, 2024.

II. Theme:

Embrace the Winter Break, Continue Growing.

III. Objectives:

Seize the powerful opportunity for self-education and self-improvement during the winter break. Uphold values, take action, and focus on promoting traditional culture, expressing gratitude to family, engaging in community service, strengthening academic development, participating in winter break reading activities, and enhancing labor skills. Guide students to actively enhance their comprehensive qualities through learning, practice, cultural inheritance, creative writing, and skill improvement, culminating in a series of tangible outcomes. Strengthen educational effectiveness through activities such as showcasing excellent results, summarizing and publicizing achievements, and reporting and exchanging experiences.

IV. Activity Content:

Students will choose from the following activities according to their grade level:

1.Enhancement of Ideological Quality:

1.1. My Patriotic Story:

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, focus on significant achievements, changes, experiences, and figures since its establishment and create a 5-minute micro-lecture video.

1.2. Remaining True to the Party's Original Aspiration:

Party members can write about "My Party Admission Story," while aspiring members can present thematic ideological reports to further refine their thoughts, boost spirits, and enhance understanding.

1.3. Red Tour Study:

Visit red revolutionary sites, significant engineering projects, residences of historical figures, and memorial halls to interview heroes and their comrades or relatives who experienced major historical events. Create materials for red memory tours through storytelling, historical photography, and artistic portrayal.

2.Exploration of Traditional Culture:

2.1. Capturing the Flavor of the New Year:

Document the Spring Festival atmosphere and folk customs of hometowns through images and text.

2.2. Elderly Talks on New Year Customs:

Record traditional customs of hometowns through interviews with elders and neighbors and present them in short video format.

2.3. Creative Cultural Gifts:

Theme One: Create traditional handicrafts, calligraphy, paintings, and New Year delicacies from hometowns.

Theme Two: Explore campus culture by creating innovative products featuring the mascot of the School of Computer Science and Information, "Little Loudspeaker," with themes like "Little Loudspeaker Welcomes the Spring Festival" and "Little Loudspeaker Loves Our University."

2.4. Intangible Cultural Heritage Preservation:

Actively participate in the preservation of hometown intangible cultural heritage through field investigations and learning, promoting hometown cultural heritage in various forms.

2.5. Ethnic Culture Exhibition:

Encourage minority students to document landscapes, cuisine, clothing customs, handicrafts, and ethnic music and dance to showcase the charm of ethnic cultures through photography, interviews, and literary creation.

3.Comprehensive Quality Development:

3.1. "Literary Companion for the Spring Festival" Reading Theme:

Read excellent books and write reflections to create a rich holiday learning atmosphere.

3.2. "Review and Outlook" Summary:

Summarize university life, plan for the new semester, write a growth report, and develop plans for the new year.

3.3. Career Planning:

Seniors will create resumes, write cover letters, and record self-introduction videos to prepare for job applications.

3.4. Daily Check-In:

Engage in activities such as study check-ins, fitness check-ins, and early morning routines to enrich holiday life.

3.5. Winter Break Skill Enhancement:

Encourage students to cultivate specific skills consciously and systematically, leveraging their inherent talents.

4.Enhancement of Academic Development:

4.1. Personal Academic Planning:

Create a personal academic plan for the new semester during the holiday period and develop a list of personal learning goals for the new year.

4.2. In-depth Investigation of Major Fields:

Conduct research on industries related to their majors and target universities for postgraduate studies, preparing a report on professional awareness.

5.Expressing Filial Piety and Gratitude:

5.1. "Beautiful Family Portrait" Creative Photography:

Capture happy family scenes and touching moments through photography.

5.2. "New Year's Gift of Filial Piety" Expressing Gratitude:

Express gratitude by preparing New Year gifts for family members, serving parents for a day, and having open-hearted conversations with elders.

5.3. "A Day of Joy" Short Video Recording:

Invite family members to participate in recording a day of their winter break life.

5.4. Promotion of Family Culture:

Promote family culture through actions such as exploring family traditions, reciting family maxims, and writing family letters, culminating in a collection of cultural inheritance works such as calligraphy, posters, and videos.

5.5. Collection of Family Stories:

Record stories of family growth through videos, texts, and other forms, capturing memories from old photos and items.


V. Submission:

Refer to the "Appendix: Requirements for Works of the 2024 Winter Break Personal Growth Plan" and submit materials to your class before February 28th, 2024, following the instructions provided by your grade-level counselor.

To showcase excellence and create a vibrant atmosphere, students interested in showcasing their work must submit their materials by February 12th, 2024. The School will select outstanding works for display and recommend them to the university.

VI. Awards:

At the beginning of the new semester, the School will organize a sharing and exhibition event for the Winter Break Personal Growth Plan, including the selection of outstanding works. Excellent achievements in the personal growth plan will be submitted and entered into the "Ideological Learning" module of the second classroom grade system as part of the ideological learning assessment.
